What virtualization protocols are supported by ZeeScan?
ZeeScan currently works with Citrix ICA / HDX and VMware Blast protocols and we are actively working on adding support for Microsoft RDP, which will be released soon. As a result of using these protocols, ZeeScan provides a quick, secure, and seamless scanning experience, giving the impression that you’re scanning locally.
What are the prerequisites to use ZeeScan remote scanning solution?
In order to use ZeeScan, you need to have an endpoint running ZeeOS with a valid ZeeScan license. You also need to have ZeeScan Server installed on your VDI or windows server, and to have a scanner machine compatible with SANE version 1.0.27 minimum.
How ZeeScan reduces scan bandwidth by 20-fold?
Considering you are using Citrix VDI, you likely have the Citrix HDX protocol. Many standard solutions create a new protocol to scan through VDI because they are not developed to scan through the existing display protocols. In contrast, ZeeScan has been developed to utilize the existing display protocols (Citrix HDX / VMware blast) for scanning. This approach reduces the amount of bandwidth needed for scanning because these protocols have very good compression abilities.
Are all scanners supported on ZeeScan?
ZeeScan supports all scanners with a SANE version of minimum 1.0.27 (almost all the scanners we use these days have a SANE version of min 1.0.27)
I am a remote worker, does ZeeScan work for my home scanner?
Yes, with ZeeScan you can scan from your home scanner through your virtual desktop. It is not just restricted to office LAN setup.
